Farm Animal Birthday Party

Farm animal theme was inspired by two-year-old Alexia because she loves animals and wanted to have animals at her and her sister Sophia’s second birthday party.

Their mom Pola turned her daughter’s love of animals into an amazing farm animal party and there wasn’t a single detail ignored.

Let’s giddy up into the details:

Invitation:

An invitation design was chosen by looking through Etsy for something a little original and cute. Pola loves mailing invitation to guests. She especially loves sending invitations to her daughters and they get more excited for the party.

Outfits:

Adorable denim shorts and checkered tops were purchased from H&M and Crocs and Converse shoes from Nordstrom.

Hair:

She took the kids to a kid’s hair salon and did a test run of having their hair braided and when both mommy and kids approved the braids they went back for the big day and had beautiful French braids for their party.

Venue:

Their living room and backyard.

Activities:

Petting Zoo from Jessie’s Party Animals – was a big hit and the kids gently pet and explored the farm animals

Puzzles and coloring – Tables set up with farm theme puzzles and coloring books.

Bounce house for the kids to spend their energy in.

Music:

Farm theme cd with different songs and rhymes was playing in the background.

Food and Drinks:

Farmers market theme food in the living room like salads and sandwiches.

Hot dogs, pizza and snacks for the kids was available outside

Beer and spirits for the adults

Juice and water for the kids

Decorations:

All decorations were handmade or hand-picked by the uber talented Pola.

Barn door made from red and white felt. This was an amazing lightweight decoration.

There was dried corn that was bunched together and made into centerpieces

The activity tables had a cow print fabric covers and farm theme buckets to hold the markers and pencils

Hay was purchased from local farm and it created a wonderful farm ambiance

Cake:

The cake was from Maggie’s Pastry.

Cake is a gorgeous farm theme with little animals and cupcakes surrounding it and it was placed on a hay stand.

Party favors:

All guests took home jars of jam made with love by the girls’ grandmother.

Pola also personalized red buckets for the kids  and chose the goodies by age and gender appropriate.

Guests who did not have human kids, but have pet kids were given buckets full of doggie treats {I love this idea}.

Rentals:

CMC Rentals provided the kids’ long rectangular tables and small red and white plastic chairs and round tables and white wood chairs for adults.

Final notes from Pola:

Pola started preparing for her kids’ party about five months prior and til the day of the party she and her husband wondered if all this work was worth it and would think did the kids understand? And they got their answer when they saw their daughters’ faces as they enjoyed their party and especially when everyone gathered to sing happy birthday and Alexia realized it was for her and the look on her face made her parents so happy.

I plan and think as a kid would I want to come back to this party and will the kids absolutely love this party?
